Visage*, Steve Strange Project - In The Year 2525 (Vinyl)

The band then began a year promoting and performing comeback album 'Hearts And Knives'. The band performed a string of live dates across Europe and Japan. A total of 5 singles were released from the Album. The resulting "Orchestral" album featured expansive orchestral arrangements of their classic tracks which the synthesiser sounds Visage is known for blended with expansive strings, woodwinds and brass arrangements. Although the programme was set in the early s, when Strange was in his early 20s, Warren was 43 at the time of production.

In his final years he lived with his family in the South Wales seaside town of Porthcawl. He revealed he was bisexual as he had relationships with both men and women. For many years, Strange was addicted to heroin. In later years he suffered a nervous breakdown, and in November he was arrested for shoplifting—he was caught stealing a Teletubbies doll for his nephew. In court, he was found guilty and given a three-month suspended sentence. The British media publicised the case of a pop star who had fallen on hard times.

In , Strange published his autobiography, Blitzed! On 12 February Strange suffered a heart attack , at the age of 55, whilst in Sharm el-Sheikh , Egypt; he died later that day in hospital. Spandau Ballet who also started their musical career in the Blitz Club founded by Strange dedicated their performance at the Sanremo Music Festival later that night to Strange.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. For the Stranger Things character, see Steve Harrington. New wave synthpop. What a scam. I ordered the boxset to later find out that they are re-recordings. Totally unacceptable. Now i have an idea about what rusty egan was ranting on about it being fake Visage. As a tribute to the great Steve Strange they are releasing 4cds of instrumentals? He was the singer! Its like doing in instrumental tribute to Elvis or Frank Sinatra.

Makes no sense. Totally weird. The new remixes of the re-recorded early material does make sense though I assume these are just the Orchestral recordings minus the orchestra. One question though, where will we be able to download it from? Not even the Visage website mentions whether it can be downloaded from there or not.

All in all rather a botched job probably organised by accountants than anyone with a love for the music. Wow, I did check out soundcloud and they are certainly not the original extended mixes.

Expect a huge backlash. I have listened to them as well and they are new extended versions which I think is really underhand that they have not stated this. You can listen to them on soundcloud as clips.

The official website has now been updated to make this clear. Someone there must be reading here. Makes the non-appearance of an extended Night Train all the more mysterious.

Am I missing something, what is the value of a download of an album that is already included? So will that be included on the CDr? Does that mean that the downloadable album and CDr album have slightly different versions from the regular CD version?

The extended version CD has some new to CD original extended versions it seems. I agree this is a missed opportunity. Especially entire disks of them. Now, if they had done CDs of the stems so you could make your own mixes…. Pleasure Boys Pleasure Boys 2. Fade To Grey 2. Mind Of A Toy 3. The Damned Don't Cry 4. UK Politics. Lib Dems. On November 10th, Visage released their self-titled debut album. This was a sort of supergroup in reverse, as everyone in the band went onto legendary bands afterward, such as Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Ultravox, and more. Appearing with Steve Strange in the video was his friend Julia Fodor, who mimed the French lyrics in the video. Necessary cookies are absolutely essential for the website to function properly.
