Jackman also stars in a YouTube clip in which he urges fans to vote for their city to host the film's premiere later this month. Jackman, who not only stars in the movie but also produced it via his company Seed Productions, said he was upset for everyone involved in the movie that an unfinished version was posted online last week, almost a month before its launch.
The leak sent production company 20th Century Fox, a unit of News Corp, into a spin to stop the spoiling of one of the year's most anticipated movies. It's like a Ferrari without a paint job. The movie is described as the first chapter in the X-Men saga in which Wolverine is united with other legends of the X-Men universe in a revolution that pits the mutants against forces determined to eliminate them.
K, a mysterious man with the ability to change his appearance frequently targets the rich for his theft. One day he manages to trick police into thinking a circus acrobat named Heikichi Endo is the real criminal, leaving it up to Endo to escape jail and prove his innocence.
Meanwhile K targets his next victim, Yoko Hashiba--an heiress whose fiance is Kogoro Akechi, the famous detective who arrested Endo.
But Endo still has a score to settle, and picks a fight with K They have practically no choice, and are forced to obey the rules of the "System", the Camorra. Only a lucky few can even think of leading a "normal" life. Five stories are woven together in this violent scenario, set in a cruel and ostensibly invented world, but one that is deeply rooted in reality.
Based on the controversial, bestselling novel of the same name and winner of the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival The lonely boy's wish for a friend seems to come true when he meets Eli, also 12, who moves in next door to him with her father. A pale, serious young girl, she only comes out at night and doesn't seem affected by the freezing temperatures.
Coinciding with Eli's arrival is a series of inexplicable disappearances and murders. It is our true hope that he finds all he is looking for, and that he achieves the happiness he deserves. He will be missed. I felt it important to open up a line of communication in an effort to kill any rumors and to promote clarity. I love Mike and really hope he's happy and successful in whatever he does. I realize that Mike was always the one to actively stay in touch with our fans, and I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to try to be at least a bit more present on both mine and DT's websites and to let you all know that I am here.
To me, Dream Theater's story is one of defying the odds, standing for true integrity in music and creating our own success through perseverance and hard work, so although Mike's leaving is heartbreaking, I still look forward to an amazing musical journey that continues on with some of the most talented and respected musicians and composers on the planet!
MIke stated that he was burnt out with the DT world and needed a break. We have to respect where he is at and where this will lead him at this particular point in time. With that being said, we are more than pumped to continue the legacy of DT and jump full on into the next chapter. Rest assured it will be great. You can count on it. On another positive note. Matt and I are psyched with the reaction and reviews 'Static Impulse is receiving around the world. We can't wait until everyone can get their hands on the complete disc.
I will be around more often to see how you're all doing and to fill you with any and all news. Take care and not long now until the 27th or 28th depending on where you live. Kick it up a notch, James. I have always been able to express my feelings and do my best "talking" through music, so I decided to voice my statement in this improvisation. And it's still very hard for me to sit back and watch this kind of discussion I know many of you or at least on other sites will say, "well then, you shouldn't have left" I'm not trying to tell you guys what you can and cannot talk about I'm just asking for some sensitivity for a little while Thanks for all your support and understanding everyone, MP.
What are your thoughts? Did you see this coming? Do you wish some sort of compromise could have been worked out? And of course, nobody likes conflict. Dream Theater works best as a creative unit, and it's not going to be easy to find a replacement and have somebody we can really bond with. We're looking for the right guy, and I'm sure we'll find that person.
Are you excited to play with somebody new? So this isn't going to affect me more than anybody else, really. Creatively, the Dream Theater process has always been extremely collaborative - there's always been plenty of input from everybody - so when working with somebody new, we're going to have to look for those common ground points that we have. A new member will be influential, no doubt.
Hopefully, new directions will open up. I think it can be cool. If so, would you welcome him back with open arms, or do you see this as a necessary, clean break? But right now, the band is focused on finding a new member to get in the studio with. We want to make a great record that we're happy with and have a great next tour. That's what we do, and that's what we're looking at. They're all world-class drummers. I can't tell you who - I'd love to tell you, but I can't.
I can't divulge or disclose that information. Not at this point. It's too sensitive at this point. But it will be a very intense week for us while we're jamming and playing with these drummers. Bonus Material from the first two albums will be available soon! Dream Theater will be performing on the main stage on July 24th. There will also be various VIP and hotel packages available. There is no booking fee for tickets. Tickets are available from www.
From Portnoy's post on his forum: Just for the record, this is indeed true.. Fairly recently, I reached out to the guys to try and make amends and offered to reconcile for the sake of having peace back in our lives I figured it was still possible to try and save us because they hadn't made any announcements yet or begun any public activity with another drummer Sorry gang, I honestly gave it my all So now the fans on my twitter and facebook can please stop asking me to go back to DT I tried, and the door is now shut PS - I'm not crying or looking for mercy by posting this I am merely trying to set the record straight as that is always the most important thing about my relationship with you guys I've also recently seen some people accuse my online activity of "looking for attention or media coverage" or "looking for sympathy", but it's honestly none of the above I merely value having an open and active communication with my fans Anyways, onward and upward I've got alot of great music and ideas waiting to come out of me and alot of exciting collaborations in the works A few excerpts from the chat follow below.
Basically, we went into a meeting expecting to talk about details of the studio and when and where, and it took a whole different turn. We were supposed to go into the studio in January and we had actually extended our break a bit so that Mike could finish out the rest of the year [as the touring drummer for] Avenged Sevenfold.
Then he brought up that he wanted to take a hiatus. There wasn't anything that led up to it in our minds and it kind of shocked us, you know?! We weren't expecting that at all. I really believe that's what might've been best for him and I'm sure he doesn't want to let go of Dream Theater. Why should he necessarily have to?
Of course, there's the reality that there are four other guys who also happen to have Dream Theater as their lives. I think a lot of the problem was with us personally, but to me the vibe within Dream Theater was fine. I mean, so you've got John Myung who wasn't really socializing with us at all anymore, but as I said to Mike, 'Tell me how it's any different to when I first joined this band.
And I've really got no problem with him doing what he's doing with Avenged Sevenfold. I think it's pretty cool going out and playing with a really successful rock group. I just have a little bit of a problem with him thinking that he could control Dream Theater.
It's like a captain who is trying to command his ship when he's not even standing on the ship. And all the other guys are just sitting there , cruising along with a guy saying, 'The captain has left the ship. Okay, boys, here's what we're going to do: You're going to take a break. He may have been a little tired of us, but the bigger picture is that we're all brothers. One of the first things I said was that I was trying to understand where he was coming from and that I don't judge him.
Everyone is their own man and I get it. But from my perspective and from that of the other guys, you could take those same elements mentioned by Mike, the fact that we've been a band for 25 years, that this is something that we have built up and that we love, as a reason not to stop it or even take a break.
What was initially a four-month break suddenly turned into a hiatus, then changed to a year and four months, which then could have turned into anyone's guess. You know, you walk around afterwards going, 'Is this really happening? You feel like you're in some kind of weird, limbo dream state and it's hard for me to imagine this band without him.
But I think the whole beauty of Dream Theater is the collective nature and everybody has their talents. I think we've always been about more than just one individual and that's part of our strength.
Of course we are going to miss Mike a lot, but we move forward, as is our right. So that will be a major difference in the band. Instead of one person handling all of those responsibilities, it's going to be spread out over four others.
We've got an amazing team of managers and tour managers, we're all very capable guys and we're not scared. This is not rocket science. This is not curing cancer, this is a rock band, and I think we can handle it. It would be ridiculous to think that we won't play together again.
That's kind of silly. Whether it's in Dream Theater or something else or we reunite down the line, who knows?! If that's the way the planets align and things work out in both of our lives, then I'm certainly open to that. But in the meantime, I think we owe it to ourselves to carry on with focus and intention.
Right now, we have to find an ass-kicking drummer…" Excerpts from Mike Portnoy's interview from the same issue of Classic Rock Prog magazine can be found at this location. Regarding Portnoy's departure, Petrucci said, "It wasn't easy.
We had been in the band together with Mike for over 25 years and him leaving the band was a major shock and a major heartbreak to us, so the whole thing's been difficult. But we look ahead to the future positively. These tours introduced hundreds of thousands to some truly genre-defining music, and inspired a new generation with music that would have otherwise remained outside the public view. He was an amazing singer, an amazing frontman, and an even more amazing songwriter. After all, a man responsible for writing "Bohemian Rhapsody" alone would be celebrated forever, let alone other massive hits like "Somebody to Love", "We Are the Champions" and of course, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love".
He spent the bulk of his childhood in India and started to learn the piano at age 7. He started his first band, The Hectics, when he was years-old, and even then his former bandmates saw something special.

Happy September We were in the thick of the World Magnetic tour at that time and thought it would be cool to invite our friend Wayne Isham out to capture the shows, so while we were getting ready to film the 3D movie and all the other shenanigans we've been up to since then, Wayne and his team have been quietly editing and working with our team of next level audio engineers.

The band announced on Friday that it has officially left its longtime home, the Warner Music Group, taken its master recordings and formed a new independent label, Blackened Recordings. All forthcoming Metallica projects -- including future studio albums, reissues, live recordings and long- and short-form video work -- will come out via Blackened.
The label will also handle its own marketing and promotion, and be distributed by WMG reissue subsidiary Rhino Entertainment. The timing of the announcement is notable. Under an agreement that Metallica signed in , when the band was at the peak of its commercial powers and the phrase "illegal downloading" sounded more like trucker slang than a music biz concern, the band negotiated that ownership of all of its master recordings would revert to them on Nov.
That day has come. Much has happened in the intervening 18 years: Haircuts. Symphonic performances. Despite the peaks and valleys its reputation has suffered among some fans and critics, the band has earned respect and kudos for its integrity. When it first signed to the company's Elektra Records subsidiary in , Metallica was co-headlining tours with W.
