Sure, you can name your music files with a bunch of meaningless numbers and store all of them in one big folder as long as you are able to manage them with their tags. But problems will soon arise when you're trying to locate and play a song outside a music player.
And more often than not you will be forced to manage those files to fix some problems, and you would probably want to see more info on their path and filename. On the other hand, you don't have to organize your files more meticulously than necessary. Most of the time you will be playing them from a music player rather than from their folder; your collection keeps growing and changing, often demanding a different organizing rule.
Here are some key principles I'd think to keep in mind with regard to naming templates. This is why "do not re-organize files with missing tags" option is by default ticked for file organization dialog. Go Go at the Castle.

I would create an album "Together Again" under Various Artists. I think it would be better if MB3 understood more than just two types of folders Would it be possible in the future to add the possibility to add a music library without metadata scanning?
Ex: home music. I have a bunch of mp3 that doesn't have any metadata and I would like to be able to browser those by file.
This could also fix album with multiple artist that you don't really want to mix in your library within all the other artist etc.. I am currently scanning my music library in to Emby for the first time. Looking in the Artists area in the web GUI I can see that artists who only appear on compilation albums are also appearing in the artists list and only have one song etc.
I only want to see Album Artists. In Kodi there is a setting to not show artists who only appear on compilation albums can this be done in Emby?
If not can it be added as a feature request? My compilation albums are tagged as Album Artist "Various Artist" and the Artist tag is either the name of the artist for that particular track or just "Various Artists" again. The Qub. Digital Cat. Pasado Reciente. Second Connection. By One Reflex. One Reflex. Badman Forward. By Dubdealer. Mental Affection. I would prefer to separate the artist in the tagging and combine them if or when needed.
If I can get my tagging to work in Foobar, I'll be happy. Having said that, I realise now that the biggest piece of the problem is that I can only set the track artist in a FLAC image via a Cue Sheet--as far as I've been able to see, there is no standard for specifying multiple artists in a cuesheet. I've spent many many hours researching, compiling together commandline tools, and writing a batch script to get the data I need into these FLAC files.
But multiple artists is the final challenge--if it's possible. If there is no support for multiple artists in a Cue Sheet, please say and I'll settle for a separator instead.Aug 11, · FLAC files- xiph tags override id3v2 tags ; mp3 files can have either id3 or APE tags; mka, dsf, dff - ID3v2 format read but are handled by ffmpeg tag reader and it does not support all tags from IDE standard) Tags Kodi reads.
