Whether she's writing about unfulfilled empty-nesters, lonely widowers or young control freaks, Tyler's novels demonstrate that it's never too late to change your life. But after several recent books about retirees — including Clock Dance, A Spool of Blue Thread, and Noah's Compass — Tyler returns with a story that shows it's never too early, either.

Unlike many of Tyler's novels, Redhead is not about her protagonist's discovery that he is living the wrong life. Micah has carefully structured his days to make sure he is living pretty much the life he wants. But it turns out his life isn't as perfect as he thought, and in fact, where relationships are concerned, perfection isn't a smart goal. We're close by his side as he starts to recognize this.

He has a longtime girlfriend, a fourth grade teacher named Cassia Slade, but they live apart. By mid-morning, Micah heads out in his Kia to make house-calls to customers flummoxed by their glitchy computers and wi-fi networks.

Many are older. Milkweed has one foot stalk and large oval leaves that grow opposite each other. In fall, it produces large pods that are filled with downy white fibers. The quality that most makes milkweed stand out, though, is its importance in the life cycle of monarch butterflies.

It is the only food for their larvae, so if you see one, you can thank milkweed for providing its early nutrition. Day lilies are bright orange, ft tall flowers with long leaves that were introduced from Asia as garden flowers, but quickly found homes in meadows and along roadsides as well.

This daisy might be the only flower in this post easier to identify than the dandelion. Native to Europe and beloved of flower children across the nation. Black-eyed susans are in the same family as the common daisy, but they are native to North America. I used to believe that bluebells only grew in the south, but turns out I was wrong!

These have many names, including bluebell blueflowers, harebells, healthbells, and bluebells of Scotland. It is straight and tall, usually feet, but up to 5 feet tall. Its flowers appear on the top of the stalk, but the flowers are probably the least interesting part of this plant. Mullein is fairly well-known in herbal medicine and is used for soothing coughs and skin irritations among other things. In addition, the dried stalk brown in this photo can be used in firemaking using the hand drill method.

There is no way you are going to watch this film and feel uplifted. However, it's possible that you will think about the events of in a new and different way. We saw this film under less than ideal circumstances--projected onto a wall, and with some of the subtitles difficult to read.
