Midnight Sun - Lisa Miskovsky - Fallingwater (CD, Album)

A Brand New Day 2. Back to Stoneberry Road 3. Butterfly Man 4. Joan of Arc 5. Lady Stardust 6. Midnight Sun 7. One Dark Night 8.

Restless Heart 9. Shells Sing to Me Sweet Dreams Take Me by the Hand I first heard the initial song from the album - "lady stardust" and it blew me away, one of my favourites in recent years.

I bought the album from this and was not disapointed. This has quite a soft gentle feel, basic flowing beats, some up tempo songs, quite like KT Tunstall. The lyrics are very good. Other notable songs are "midnight sun" and butterfly man". Beautifully sung and a nice album to relax and unwind with!

It may take a few listens to fully enjoy but is well worth the wait. One person found this helpful. If you're on this page wondering whether to buy this album, rest assured and go ahead. It's probably one of the best music buying decisions I made in recent years. It has many very good tracks but "One Dark Night", for me, is one of the most beautiful, haunting tracks I've ever owned.

Reading the reviews of this album, I took a chance, having not heard any of her songs. Now that I have had the labum for a short while, I feel that my rash decision has paid off. One of the first things that struck me upon listening to the opening few tracks, was how much I felt there was a country feel to Lisa's style.

In some ways, this did surprise me, as many reviewers had only mentioned the songs as being pop music. I was even more surprised that I actually liked it - I have no other country music in my collection. The opening track, "Lady Stardust" is a good opener - it is feel good music that makes you instantly feel better and like you want to sing. There is a real sadness here. The lyrics, to me, suggest that it is about an abusive relationship.

Maybe I am completely off the mark, but regardless of whether it was abusive, it is most definitely one that is coming to the end.

I think it is one of my favourite from the whole album. It takes the pace of the album down - Lisa's singing is very personal, there is a vulnerability to her here. The music is also very gentle, allowing the emotion to be created by Lisa and her voice. The lyrics describe the falling apart of a relationship. Lisa ia again able to create an intense amount of emotion merely through the singing capabilities and the music.

This is one album that really doesn't have fillers. Her songs have an intelligence and creativity behind them - some of the images she uses would be worthy of a piece of poetry.

I highly recommend this album - if, like me, you have a dislike of country influenced music, please take the time to give this one a go. It really is only an influnece here - in my opinion, Lisa's song have more intelligence, cohesion and diversity to them than most country songs.

This is a lovely album from Swede Lisa, with the Swedish hit "Brand New Day" a particular stand out track among many fine songs. But just one thing: she is not a new artist for ! 3. Falling Water sounds mostly like a country Fleetwood Mac. It sounds like Lisa was trying to go for a more mature growth (which I feel she falls VERY short) and abandons the style of the first album. It really depends on your musical tastes, I guess.
