It was released in March by the United Artists record label. The album's title was inspired by a collage by Linder Sterling. According to Shelley, "Howard said, 'another housewife stews in her own juice in a different kitchen'.

We shuffled it around a bit and it came out like that. The sleeve design is by Malcolm Garrett. The original UK vinyl release was issued with a black cardboard inner sleeve, using a colour photo by Jill Furmanovsky on the front cover where Linder's image was intended to appear. Rex, Slade and Sweet. The fact that none of them were hits merely demonstrates that the British public has never had any taste.

Which still seems an absurdly low position, given the sheer singalongability of pretty much every tune on an album brimming with an addictive pop sheen that was entirely absent from most of their punk peers at the time. Songs generally come in at under three minutes and are perfect examples of the pop song as an art form: short sharp verses followed by snappy choruses containing a melodic hook.

Just six months later, Love Bites arrived. Recorded once again with Martin Rushent at Olympic Studios in late July , and reeased in September of that year, it reached number 13 in the U. All words by Tim Cooper.

Another Music in a Different Kitchen was their debut album. Everything about it – from its silver, orange-lettered sleeve to Martin Rushent’s aluminium-sheen production – is right.

  7. General judgment holds the Buzzcocks' peerless singles, the definition of punk-pop at its finest, as the best expression of their work. However, while the singles showcased one particular side of the band, albums like the group's long-playing debut Another Music showcased the foursome's other influences, sometimes brilliantly. The big secret is Shelley's worship of Krautrock's obsessive focus.
  8. Background and production. Love Bites was recorded and mixed by Buzzcocks with producer Martin Rushent over a two-and-a-half-week period, less than six months after the release of début album Another Music in a Different Kitchen. "Late for the Train" was first played and recorded on John Peel's Radio One show, along with bass player Steve Garvey's instrumental "Walking Distance".
