Michael Tilson Thomas revives two related and politically based shows, presented here in a well produced and competitively priced pairing. If there is a problem with this release it is that any recordings of show scores are taking the pieces away from there originally intend medium. I have been fortunate to have seen both shows complete on stage. And, I am happy to have such a well realised recording for that reason. They do however lack that additional element that can only be gained by attending a live performance.
