As music students, the band studied popular song structures and form, but they don't so much rip up the rulebook as blow it to pieces here. There's '60s girl group pop on 'Regret' , '90s RnB on the title track, stadium-sized anthemia on 'No Reptiles' , as well as the eccentric art rock that made their name.
Often, the album sounds unlike anything Everything Everything have done before. Each track may sound completely dissimilar to the last, but Get To Heaven hangs together spectacularly well because every song on it is exuberant and audacious.
