Add Review Clemkaddidlehopper November 22, Report. I have this album in almost pristine condition it has a gold round label that says gold record award audited and certified by record industry of America on the front cover any one know anything about this? I thought the Deja vu album was 2 albums in a box set but when I ordered only got 1 album? Reply Notify me Helpful. Do you have an idea? That being said the glittering harmonies [which sometimes got just a bit too sweet for my ears], musical precision, and impeccable laid back relaxed atmosphere created here can not be denied, even if it lacks a sonically stronger structure and presentation.
Along with their lesser known members, David Crosby, who dropped out [actually he was kicked out of the nest] of The Byrds, along with Graham Nash who was dismissed from The Hollies, and Stephen Stills and Neil Young who had nowhere to go once Buffalo Springfield went down in flames, manage to not only find each other, but find the essences of each other within themselves and create an album that truly came from the heart.
Within that structure each of the four members contributed an original composition to each side of the album, and as I noted, this did belay a diversity and inconsistency. Stephen Stills opted for a Confederate Army uniform, Crosby donned a Buffalo Bill look, complete with the fringed Easy Rider suede jacket, Dallas Taylor was the gunslinger, Graham Nash came off as a sort of farmer in suspenders, Greg Reeves came across as some sort of half breed, while Neil Young looked pretty much like Neil Young.
The photograph was actually taken using a wooden box camera with a negative glass plate, meaning that they had to remain still for as long as they could [over two minutes], and that dog, it just sort of wandered into the shot and become immortalized. The collage of shots on the inner gatefold were assembled by art director Gary Burden, and were taken by the photographer Henry Diltz while the band practiced at Stephen Still's house in the Hollywood Hills, a house Stills had rented it from Peter Tork of the Monkees whom he had met while both were folksingers in Greenwich Village in the early 60's.
The first editions of the album were actually stamped with gold lettering. In my town and only 2. From reading the Yelp reviews earlier I knew that shop owner Eleni priced records on the spot when you're ready to check out. I know some don't like this approach, but I have no problem with this, Eleni has rarely, if ever, given me a price I balked at. Several times when I was short on cash she said I could pay her the next time I was in.
She wasn't too worried about it, she knew the next time would only be a matter of days. Since I live so close I find myself there at least weekly, which is both good and bad! Yes, if you have any degree of OCD you may not appreciate the appearance of the store.
It can get pretty cluttered when she has more inventory than usual. But to me that's just part of the charm of the store. Very often I've found some nice jazz selections while thumbing through the classical records. If you have a chance to stop in I'd highly recommend it. But you might want to call in advance, store hours are not always on a firm schedule. Eleni is one of the kindest store owners I've ever met in my life! Came here on vacation with my father and grandmother and walked out with over 30 records for unreal prices.
She even came with us to lunch after talking to us and befriending my grandmother in the store. So warm and kind-hearted - I can't wait to come back to Massachusetts to visit her and her store!!! A fantastic collection of used vinyl!
The prices are great! The owner, Eleni, will help you find what you are looking for too. I highly recommend visiting this store if you love records! Pretty disorganized but the owner is absolutely lovely and will keep an eye out for things you want if you give her a list! Elenis is helpful, savvy and sweet! She has very, very fair prices, and the mess adds to the charm. The typical organization will not please a person with OCD sensibilities, but if you are that bothered and intolerant, buzz-off, and don't bother Eleni!
She is the best! A great little record shop. I went in wanting a couple of CDs for a long drive. I didn't have any cash and tried to pay with a card.
The owner said she didn't take cards but encouraged me to take the CDs and pay her next time I passed through town.
I said I wasn't from the area and didn't know when I would be back. She said that was fine and sent me off with the CDs. Just an incredibly generous person with a wonderful store, the kind there are all too few of today.
The owner's nuttiness and eccentricities hit the wall today. On previous occasions I had tolerated her hounding me, randomly taking away lps from my pile at "check out" and asking me to cart her downtown for errands.
Today, what finally was the last straw for me was digging through the mess of a store for 30 minutes and then her coming over to tell me that the cheapest lp was 5 bucks and the majority of them were 7 and up.
Mind you, on previous trips classical records averaged about 1. What I had was no different then on past visits. I'm done with this crazy old lady. She should pack it in, so sad! Record shops used to be much more common to find, and haven't gone completely "the way of the dinosaur", but are close to it. Yet, this statement is not true for the Town Of Natick. Natick still has 2 record shops, this being one and "Listen Up" being the other one. Elaine, the owner of this shop is amazing.
She is so friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. She is always in a great, energetic mood and is always very pleasant. She carries a wide variety of records as well as some VHS'. She has thousands and thousands of records, varying from any music in the past. Records go on sale frequently, and she is always restocking! In , Giorgio Moroder reworked a song of his own from the '60s called "Doo Bee Doo" version , which was used in the Volkswagen Super Bowl commercial titled "Wings".
In March , singer Kelis announced a collaboration with Moroder on her Facebook page. At Metacritic , which assigns a normalized rating out of to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 54 based on 25 reviews, which indicates "mixed or average reviews". It single was released worldwide on 17 April and was accompanied by a music video, also uploaded on Moroder's Vevo. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

I base this belief on no evidence whatsoever. Until that time, though I am a dyed-in-the-wool vinyl dude, I am listening to this album on CD. And it can be had for eleven bucks.
