Von diesem Album ist allerdings noch nichts auf dieser "Sammlung". Absolut grandios! Genial, vor allem dank der Longtracks! Daher heute days bestellt Man versinkt darin!!!!! So far pretty good stuff. Sort of a mix of alternative rock with psychedelic. So far the music flows without any breaks, you know how sometimes you wonder why is this song here. I will definitely be exploring more of their music. Check them out. Load more international reviews. I hesitated before buying this on.
After all, I had all of the others in one form or another. The sound is incredible, the booklet is gorgeous and the choice of songs awesome. Add a few different versions of beloved songs and the whole thing flows. An ideal way to get introduced to this great underrated band. The critical plaudits and small but fanatical fan base that grew around the release was enough to convince Bruce that perhaps TPT was here to stay and he returned to the Dining Room studios to work on the second TPT album, Following the reaction to its release in the spring of and the growing demand from fans for live shows, Bruce felt … read more.

Just before 7 minutes, everything drops out except for an echoing synth, then drums crash in with a more moderate rhythm, spooky keys and spoken word vocals set for an ominous section.
About 10 minutes in, things fade and become a bit experimental for about a minute before the previous theme comes back in chiming in the guitars and synths. Then the whole band leads out the last part of the track with a rousing finale.
Overall, this album shows much better improvement and is a good step towards a more progressive sound from the band. It would also feature more emotional songs with better melodies and themes, and better flow in the longer tracks, not just made long by wasting time, but actually having substance in the longer tracks. There was still some room to work here, but for the most part, the moan-y alternative songs were being replaced with better dynamics and even some upbeat sections.
I like this album much better than most of their earlier albums, and finally they seemed to be returning to the sound of their awesome album 'Variations on a Dream'. For me, the previous release of Your Wilderness was a sign of great things to come with Gavin Harrison hopping up. In itself it didn't have the substance, but it showed the potential.
And with Dissolution, they brought such potential to justice: kinda like when Meddle worked as the unintended terrain preparation for Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon. In itself, the songs follow Pineapple Thief's usual formula of "safe innovation" and titles that are repeated throughout the lyrics ha-ha.
I was starting to get disappointed at it until that monster that is White Mist. The album's epic if you can call it that way gave me the motivation to try another spin.
